1. Canva

 

Canva makes graphic design accessible to everyone. Simply drag and drop from a library of more than 1 million stock photographs, hundreds of fonts and professional layouts. You can also upload your own images and enhance them with a selection of photo filters. If you have little experience with the technical side of graphic design, then Canva is for you. Its user-friendly functionality makes it easy to take an idea and turn it into a stunning design. With preset dimensions, you can magically resize your image to fit any social platform.

NOTE: Canva allows you to save your brand’s font and colour scheme, so you can create a posts with consistency.

 

2. Adobe Spark Post

   

Adobe Spark Post is a free online social media graphic design app that lets you add text, apply filters, resize, crop, and rotate photos.

Now Adobe Spark Post has an animation function. Simply choose a template based on the social platform you want to post the image to, and customize your text with a fade-in, slide or blur. Adding a little bit of movement, like animated text, is a simple way to grab the eye of your followers.

NOTE: You can use Adobe Spark on your browser, but the animation function is available only on the iOS mobile app.

Werble is an app that lets you transform still photos into spectacular moving works of art. You can choose from animated loops and effects that will sit on the top of your image. With the above example, I have created a festive photo with flashing Christmas lights and snow.

NOTE: Werble makes it easy to post directly to a wide range of social platforms.

Pixlr is a great alternative to photoshop. It isn’t as quick and easy-to-use as the other tools listed, but it does offer some powerful editing options. The app was intended for non-professionals but it does offers advanced editing options. Rather than downloading software, Pixlr Editor allows you to access a host of editing options from any computer with internet connection. 

It works with masking layers and effects, perfect for creating images that require more complex editing and resizing. 

NOTE: Don’t expect to crank out finished images in under a minute like some of the other tools.
